Diplomas will be mailed by Degree Audit to the graduate at the address that they indicate on their degree application. The entry of the degree will be made on official records and will be included in all transcripts requested by the student.
Degree cards received after the deadline will be processed for the next scheduled completion date.
Please note that these dates are subject to review and may be revised. Students should consult with the Chemistry Undergraduate Office for more information.
Settlement of Obligation:
All fees and other charges must be paid to the Office of Student Accounts in order for students to be eligible for graduation. Students must also satisfy any financial obligations incurred in connection with student activities and return all books belonging to the Libraries. Official transcripts will be sent only when all financial obligations to the University have been met.
Commencement:
There are three completion dates for degree programs with the formal commencement exercises held at the close of the spring semester. Completion dates are February 1, June 1 and September 1. All graduates for the preceding year are eligible to attend and participate in the annual exercises. Diplomas are mailed to students, together with a copy of their complete academic records, as soon as their record is cleared for awarding the degree.
Diplomas are mailed to students as soon as all grades are received and candidates have been certified for graduation. Candidates for honors may not receive their diplomas until a later date due to adding honors to the diplomas.
The Chemistry Department does not hold a separate commencement but does host an awards ceremony and reception following the University commencement.
