November 2004: Luis and Dave will be presenting at the 2004 NERM held in Rochester, NY on Oct. 31 - Nov. 3, 2004. Luis will speak on ultra-high pressure LC while Dave will speak on metal-oxide monoliths for CEC.
October 2004: Héctor and José Gil are invited to attend the 2004 Institute on Teaching and Mentoring to be held in Atlanta from October 21-24, 2004.
September 2004: Xin and Glorimar have passed their Synopsis defenses but still have their Research Proposal defenses to go.
September 7, 2004: Glamarie Burgos successfully defended her Ph.D. thesis and Murali Seenappa finished his M.A. thesis.
June 24, 2004: Héctor and Rosamil found out that in about 9 months, they will be parents of a baby girl!
June 2004: Luis was an invited speaker at HPLC 2004. He spoke about our work on monolithic columns.
May 2004: Jennifer Herrmann and Dimitrios Kourouklis got engaged! The date and place of the wedding have yet to be set.

April 2004: Our undergraduate student, Jessica Murphy, presented a poster at the 49th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium and Awards at Roberts Wesleyan College-Smith Science Center in Rochester, NY on April 24, 2004.
November 2003: We would like to welcome José Rivera, Li Li, Melissa Dunkle and Qian Wang as the new members of the ColónLab.
October 2003: Dave, Héctor and Jason had their abstracts accepted for Pittcon 2004. Stop by at Pittcon to see what they have been doing.
October 2003: Luis received the "Mentor of the Year Award" from the Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate (AGEP) program, given in Miami Florida on October 31, 2003, as part of the Compact for Faculty Diversity Activities.
October 30, 2003: Héctor Colón attended the "Compact for Faculty Diversity Conference" held Oct. 30 in Miami Florida. Only five students in the SUNY system were selected to attend the conference.
November 25, 2002: Lorraine Colón gave birth to a baby girl, Noelia Marieva (8 lbs 3 oz, 20 in.). Both mother and daughter are doing fine.
Fall 2002: Jennifer K. Herrmann was chosen as a SCEP (Student Career Experience Program) participant at the National Park Service. The program is designed to give students experience in their field of interest to help in obtaining career goals.
