Professor Allendoerfer retired in 2001. His current interests are the development of a program that calculates equilibrium concentrations of up to 10 reactants or products in any single step chemical reaction from their starting concentrations and the equilibrium constant.
Professor Allendoerfer’s research focused on the study the structure and reactivity of organic free radicals by EPR (electron paramagnetic resonance) spectroscopy. Additional research interests focused on chemical education. Professor Allendoerfer is the winner of the 1987 SUNY Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.
